In an e-mail just sent to the student body, University President Lawrence Bacow announced that he will step down from the presidency in June 2011, citing a desire to return to the classroom.
He first announced the decision to the Board of Trustees yesterday, according to the e-mail.
Bacow is a lawyer and an economist, according to his bio on the university's website.
