Even when Tufts University's power and Internet is down, we're still reporting.
Reports indivate that a manhole fire in Medford has cut power to areas including the Tufts campus, and that off-campus locations in Somerville (such as ZBT) retain power. West Hall is the exception, as it is for some reason powered by the generator in Barnum.
Stay tuned to Tufts' InfoLine at 617-627-INFO for updates. Currently, there is no certain estimate for power restoration —at least 8-10 hours is the approximate estimate. Also, "classes may not be held in buildings without power." Is that a command or a suggestion? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Quad will not have regular updates on this situation, but if there are important developments, we will try to bring them to you here at The Quad.
Breakthrough: Tufts undergraduate Science Magazine is Tufts' first and only undergraduate magazine focused on the physical and natural sciences. Our goal is to describe scientific research and innovations in a way that is interesting to science majors and accessible to non-science majors, fostering cross-departmental discussion about science developments at Tufts and the world at large.
